On behalf of many concerned Iranian-Canadians and members of our community organization, I would like to sincerely thank you and the Conservative Party of Canada for your continued support for freedom, democracy, and human rights in Iran.
Recent global developments have once again demonstrated the dangerous nature of the Islamic Republic regime, not only for the people of Iran, but also for international peace, security, and democratic societies worldwide. At the same time, tens of thousands of Iranian-Canadians across the country, from Vancouver to Ontario, have repeatedly taken to the streets demanding that Canada stand firmly with the Iranian people and against the regime responsible for decades of oppression, terrorism, and violence.
In light of these realities, we respectfully ask why the Government of Canada and members of Parliament have not formally engaged in dialogue with Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, the only figure being openly called upon by Iranians both inside and outside Iran, and a figure who enjoys the broad support of a majority of the Iranian community seeking democratic and secular change for Iran.
Recognizing and listening to the legitimate aspirations of Iranian-Canadians, a community of more than half a million citizens and residents in Canada, is both reasonable and necessary.
We are also deeply concerned by the continued policy of appeasement toward the Islamic Republic by the Liberal government. Despite officially designating the IRGC as a terrorist entity, there has been little visible enforcement or meaningful action to remove individuals affiliated with this organization from Canada.
Meanwhile, many Iranian dissidents and activists in Canada continue to face intimidation, threats, harassment, and fear for their safety. Incidents during demonstrations and public gatherings have raised serious concerns about the security of Iranian-Canadians who openly oppose the regime.
We respectfully ask:
- Why are individuals connected to the IRGC and the Islamic Republic still able to enter or remain in Canada?
- Why has the terrorist designation of the IRGC not been followed by transparent and decisive enforcement measures?
- Why are the voices and concerns of hundreds of thousands of Iranian-Canadians not being treated with the seriousness they deserve?
The people of Iran continue to fight for freedom, democracy, women’s rights, and secular governance at tremendous personal cost. We believe Canada must stand clearly and decisively on the side of the Iranian people, not merely through symbolic statements, but through concrete action and principled leadership.
We respectfully call upon Parliament and the Government of Canada to:
- Engage in meaningful dialogue with representatives and voices broadly supported by the Iranian people;
- Enforce existing measures against IRGC affiliates and individuals linked to regime activities in Canada;
- Protect Iranian-Canadian activists and dissidents from intimidation and threats;
- Publicly stand with the democratic aspirations of the Iranian people.
We sincerely appreciate your attention to these concerns and once again thank you and the Conservative Party for consistently supporting the Iranian-Canadian community and the cause of freedom in Iran.
